‘Icon & Co Design, Manufacture & Install Unique Display Furniture for Theme Park Gift Shop’
Ambitious Development
Bracing themselves for the busiest time of the year is Folly Farm Adventure Park & Zoo in Pembrokeshire, who have the added bonus of an entirely new, built-from-scratch, gift shop & entrance building to help them cope with the demands of the impending high season.
Visitor numbers are reported to be rising at an annual rate of 30% from a current half a million-plus visitors a year, so Icon & Co were immensely proud to be asked by the owners to help in the realisation of what was an ambitious yet essential development; the design, production & installation of an exciting range of unique display furniture, all reflecting the theme park’s key elements.
Themed Unique Display Furniture
The west Wales adventure park has four main themed zones: ‘Zoo’, ‘Barn’, ‘Fairground’ & ‘Play’, & a key part of the design brief for the shop interior was to have these themes represented in its fixings & display furniture, with plenty of ‘wow’ factor to boot.
Hence free-standing display gondolas in the form of safari jeeps, tractors & fairground trucks, & themed shelving reflecting the farm & rolling-hill branding of this well established rural business.
A stunning centre-piece, provided by one of Folly Farm’s very own, full size, vintage merry-go-rounds, gives some idea of the size of the building & the scale of this shop-fit project, & Icon & Co have created an undulating display shelving unit designed to maximise the merchandising potential of this beautiful piece of fun fair history.
Shopfitting Experience & A Large CNC Machine
Large format CNC cutting machinery, coupled with their design studio capabilities, as well as their experience of fitting out some of the world’s leading toy stores & retail businesses, made Icon & Co the perfect partners for the manufacturing of the eclectic & eye catching array of bespoke & unique display furniture & props required for this major project.
